Information and Resources for Recovering From a Flood Event

June 2015 Flood Event Recovery


The Town of Richmond is grateful for NYS Senator Rich Funke's support in securing $300,000 in state infrastructure funding to help our municipality repair roads and drainage systems, and implement preventative measures to reduce future flood damage. Because statewide damage from a June 2015 flood event did not meet the minimum threshold for FEMA funding, this support was essential in covering key repairs without placing an undue burden on local taxpayers.   • The Red Cross helps flood victims by providing safe shelter and essential relief supplies, and may be able to meet one-on-one with families to identify available resources to help aid recovery. To contact the Greater Rochester Chapter of the Red Cross for assistance with flood cleanup and other problems, dial 211 or call the branch directly at (585) 241-4400.


  • USDA Rural Development administers a 504 Home Repair Loan/Grant Program that is designed to assist very low-income owner occupants in repairing modest single-family homes in rural areas. Learn more about the program.
