The Town of Richmond Recreation Department offers a wide variety of activities for all ages in the community throughout the year. The Towns of Bristol and Canadice also participate in the Richmond Recreation Department programs. We provide not only activities but part-time jobs for young adults in the community who serve as recreation assistants. All activities are held at Honeoye Central School District facilities, unless otherwise noted.


Information and registration forms are handed out at H.C.S. homerooms, and are also available at the Elementary office, Middle School office, or the Richmond Town Hall at 8690 Main Street, Honeoye, NY 14471. Forms can also be downloaded on this page; or call the Richmond Recreation Department, and we will mail them to you.

 


 

 

Senior Citizen Activities:

Multi-Season Activities: 

The fitness room at Honeoye Central School is open to adults in the community ages 18 years and older on Mondays through Thursdays, 5:30 to 8:00 pm, from the end of September through the end of April. (Please follow the HCS schedule for any holidays and closures.) Cost is $25 for a punch card with 16 visits, or $2.00 per visit. Punch cards can be purchased onsite at the fitness room, payable by cash or check only. 

The fitness room will reopen for community hours on September 23, 2019.

 

Aerobics are taught by Mechele Shumway throughout the year, with classes held at the Richmond Fire Hall. Normal scheduled hours are 8:30 to 9:30 am, every Monday, Wednesday and Friday; please call before your first class to confirm the weekly schedule. Punch cards must be purchased through the Rec Department and are available at $20 for 10 visits, or $40 for 20 visits. Cards can be purchased onsite on the first day of class.

 

Summer Activities:

Adult softball leagues run during summer months. For more information, contact the Recreation Department.

 

American Red Cross Swim Lessons for ages 2 & up. Classes taught by certified American Red Cross lifeguards.

 

Weekly Field Trips during the month of July for ages 5-13 years old. A cost of $15 to $30 applies to some trips to cover admission and bus service.


Activity Days at the Bristol Town Park are held weekly during the month of July. Workshops include basketball, lacrosse and a water science project; participants can also enjoy basketball, kick ball, soccer, tennis and time on the playground. If the weather is inclement, there will be arts and crafts in the pavilion.

 

NEW! Richmond Summer Rec Programs at Sandy Bottom Park during the month of July include Mini Basketball Camp, Mini Cheer Camp, Sports at the Beach, a giant slip and slide, movie day and more!

 

Fall Activities:

Youth Soccer on Saturday mornings for grades Pre-K through 6 during September and October.

Register by Friday, September 13th, 2019.

 


After School Tumbling program for grades K-3 in October. 4 week session/1 hour per class.

Register by Wednesday, September 18th, 2019. 


Girls' Basketball for grades 3-8. Girls 3-4th grade basketball runs November through February; girls 5-6th and 7-8th grade basketball runs January through March. Fees vary; contact the Recreation Department for more info.

 

Boys' Basketball for grades 3-8. 3rd through 6th grade season runs from November through February. 7th and 8th grade season runs January through February. Jerseys and shorts provided by Richmond Recreation Department.


Winter Activities:

Women's Volleyball Leagues on Monday evenings from January through the beginning of April. 

Ski Programs for grades 3-8 (ages 8+) at Bristol Mountain during the month of January. Ski club passes must be purchased directly from Bristol Mountain; special rates available for parents/guardians. Program waiver and fee of $35 payable to Richmond Rec for bus transportation. Download registration forms at the bottom of this page for more information.

Cheerleading for K-6th grades runs from mid-January through early February. Four Saturday morning practices at H.C.S., 1 hour sessions. Cheerleaders will also cheer at an evening game. Cost of $40 includes a t-shirt and bow.


Spring Activities:

Afterschool Tumbling for grades K-3. Four weeks of 1-hour sessions.

 

Afterschool Volleyball for grades K-6. Four weeks of 1-hour sessions.

 

Afterschool Spring Basketball for grades K-6th during the month of June.

Completed forms can be left in the Recreation Department mailbox at the Richmond Town Hall, submitted to Mrs. Hoertz at the HCS Elementary Office, or mailed to P.O. Box 145, Honeoye, NY 14471. Please review each form for deadlines for advance submission.
