The Code Enforcement Department provides the following services:
Issuance of Building Permits for homes, garages, additions, pole barns, decks, demolition, culverts (state, county, and town),signs, septic systems, wood stoves, remodeling, sheds, above and in-ground pools, hot tubs, cellar excavation, mobile homes, commercial constructions, timber harvesting, and more.

**Notice: effective April 15, 2015, the Town of Richmond's Building and Zoning Department has added a re-roofing permit to its permit schedule. ANY re-roofing will now require a permit application and roof inspection before work can begin. This permit will carry a flat fee of $35.**

Review of all construction documents (drawings and/or specifications) as well as physical premises.
Issuance of Certificate of Conformity and Certificate of Occupancy
Fire and Property Maintenance Inspections
Violations and Complaints Violations require investigation, follow-up letters and in some cases, court appearances.
The following applications are prepared with the assistance of the Code Enforcement Department; however the Planning Board and/or Zoning Board are responsible for approval or disapproval.
